Where do you get inspired?
I look at award shows, design magazines, building material catalogs, and of course, CSDI.

Why is stage design important?
God created and wired us to be creative. We want to use our creativity and things we design to point people towards God. If someone looks at what we’ve built and created and says, “Someone put time and energy into this, this must be important to them.”, and in turn we get to tell them about God, that is a big deal!

Favorite stage design you've done?
One of the first stages we ever did was for a series called “Unstoppable”. The concept came from the series big idea, that God’s plan for our world, His church, and our lives, is Unstoppable. It changed our space for one of the first times in five years and created a lot of excitement for what was going on in our church.

Favorite materials?
Anything that is industrial and scalable. Geometrical shapes that are easy to replicate. Wood works well in the winter months to make our space feel warm. Coroplast and plastic products absorb and reflect light really well. Building materials like steal roofing, aluminum screen, and cardboard boxes work well. Foam board from home stores is always great for carving letters.
